Once installed, Simul will be read-only until a licence is uploaded.
To download a licence, sign-in to the Simul Enterprise dashboard. You will see a list of all licences assigned to you:
All accounts will have at least one licence automatically issued. You can then download any "Unactivated" licence using the file_download icon.
The downloaded file: simul.licence can then be activated via the Simul Enterprise management application installed on your Simul server:
Select "Upload Licence" and browse to the downloaded simul.licence file. You will then see the activated licence details like so:
This will show the expiration date, available seats and the server the licence is bound to.
You can also configure whether seats are auto-allocated as users sign-in. If you disable this, you will need to manually assign each user's email address to a seat as described here.
Your dashboard will also now reflect the update licence:
A licence can only be activated on a single server. It is possible to change the server by contacting us.
Once a licence is updated, you must "Apply Settings" as described below for it to take effect.
Any updates to Simul's configuration are not effective until an administrator applies them. This includes if the system is restarted.
After making changes of any kind, an indicator will appear on the "Status" tab in the navigation of the management application:
This icon indicates there are pending configuration changes which are yet to take effect.
To apply the changes, select "Status" in the management application and you will see a message like so:
By clicking "Apply Settings" Simul will be restarted with the modified configuration. Please be aware this involves a short outage (around 1 minute) for end users.
